SEC Power Rankings: Week 8

Another week of football is in the books, so here’s the most recent SEC Power Rankings.

Every SEC school is now officially over the half way point of their season. Week 7 provided several entertaining games and week 8 looks to do the same. All six of the SEC West teams that are ranked in the top 25 play each other, headlined by Alabama vs Texas A&M. Now, check out the rankings:

14. Missouri- Back to back blowout losses to LSU and Florida finds Mizzou 0-3 in the conference. They still get to play Vandy and South Carolina so they might get a win or two.

13. South Carolina- The Gamecocks stay put during their bye week but wins will be hard to come by the rest of the season.

12. Vanderbilt- The Dores got a nice win against Georgia this week and came close to beating Florida earlier this year. That speaks volumes about the inconsistency of the SEC East.

11. Kentucky- UK seems to be playing better as the season goes on and they get to host our Bulldogs this week.

10. Mississippi State- The Bulldogs looked formidable in their OT loss at BYU but there may only be a couple more wins on the sked for MSU.

9. Georgia- UGA is the most inconsistent team in the SEC. A loss to Vanderbilt is just embarrassing for Kirby Smart’s team.

8. Florida- The Gators beat the snot out of Missouri this week but they are No. 14 in these rankings.

    7. LSU- maybe LSU is figuring it all out under Coach O but I’m not buying them yet. They get Ole Miss this week.

    6. Auburn- Another set of Tigers that seem to be putting it all together. This week’s game against Arkansas will let us know for sure.

    5. Ole Miss- I’m sure 1-2 in the conference isn’t where they thought they’d be but OM is reeling right now. They need to string together some wins soon.

    4. Arkansas- I am higher than most on UPig but their two losses are vs. A&M and Bama. They have a good offense that allows them to stay in most games.

    3. Tennessee- The Vols didn’t even belong on the same field as Alabama on Saturday, but I think that says more about Bama than UT. Their the best in the east and it’s not close.

    2. Texas A&M- A veteran QB, several play-makers on offense and a stellar D-line have the Aggies looking toward Atlanta. A huge game against Bama will help determine the West.

    1. Alabama- It’s impressive and annoying how good this team is every year. But they better bring their A game this week against A&M.
