SEC Football: Week Five TV Viewing Guide

SEC Football: Week Five TV Viewing Guide

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Unfortunately, there are some of us who are forced to work on Saturdays. Thus, we are denied the sweet pleasure of watching a full day of magical SEC Football. For those of you who are lucky enough to be off on Saturday, congratulations. You have a slate of great games to pick from.

Unfortunately, you probably have only one pair of eyeballs. (EDITOR’S NOTE: If you have more or less than one pair you probably should see a doctor). This means you can only watch one game at a time. Here at Southbound and Down, we’ve taken the liberty of deciding what the best games are. And now we will tell you which games to watch, when, and how, so that you might have the best Saturday possible. Enjoy.

Game 1: Florida at Vanderbilt, 11am CT, SEC Network

Florida should beat Vanderbilt easily. But games aren’t won on paper. Vanderbilt has a tendency to make games ugly. The Commodores are at home, and they’re desperate for a win. Also, Luke Del Rio may not be able to play. This game could be interesting. Once it’s over, switch to…

Game 2: Tennessee vs. Georgia, 2:30 pm CT, CBS

Also at this time: UL Monroe at Auburn, SEC Network

Texas A&M at South Carolina, 3 pm CT, SEC Network Alternate

This is easily the biggest game of the day. It’s no surprise that CBS picked it up. Tennessee and Georgia are SEC East rivals who are battling for the division title. Joshua Dobbs and Jalen Hurd will be tough for the Georgia defense to stop. And Georgia will miss Nick Chubb. Nevertheless, this should be a fun game. When it’s done, switch to…

Game 3: Missouri at LSU, 6:30 pm CT, SEC Network

Also at this time: Kentucky at Alabama, 6 pm CT, ESPN

Memphis at Ole Miss, 6 pm CT, ESPN2

Missouri heads to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers. The Tigers are in their first game of the post-Les Miles era. It will be fascinating to see whether or not the Tigers rally around Coach Orgeron. If they don’t this season could get ugly in a hurry.

And that’s it. Your long day of SEC Football will finally be over. But don’t despair. More high-octane SEC Football action is only a week away.
