SE Missouri outslugs Central Methodist 55-44

Matt Scheible passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as Southeast Missouri defeated Central Methodist 55-44 on Saturday.

Scheible had touchdown throws of 34 yards to Chantae Ahamefule and 32 yards to Aaron King in the first quarter, then added a 19-yard scoring run in the second quarter as the Redhawks (3-6) built a 24-14 halftime lead. He added a 65-yard touchdown pass to Spencer Davis in the fourth quarter, and finished with a career-high 243 yards passing while also rushing for 112 yards on 17 carries.

Southeast Missouri, which piled up 539 yards of offense, also got 99 yards rushing and a touchdown from Lennies McFerren.

Caleb Haynes rushed for 71 yards and four touchdowns for Central Methodist (5-4), an NAIA school. Burton Iosefa added 119 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown run, as the Eagles finished with 337 yards rushing on 61 attempts.
