San Diego rolls over Morehead State 56-3
Mason Mills threw for 378 yards and four touchdowns to lead San Diego to a 56-3 rout of Morehead State on Saturday and keep the Toreros in the thick of the Pioneer League Football race.
If the Toreros (7-3, 6-1) defeat Drake next week they can claim an automatic bid to the FCS playoffs since they already own tiebreakers over the other contenders.
Two of Mills' scoring passes went to Reggie Bell, including a 70-yarder that gave San Diego a 21-0 lead in the second quarter. Mills, who was 23-of-31 passing, went over 3,000 yards for the season. Bell, with 211 yards on nine catches, went over 1,000 yards receiving for the year. Joe Ferguson added 115 yards rushing on seven carries, including an 83-yard touchdown run, as the Toreros piled up 599 yards total offense.
The Eagles (3-7, 3-4) had three passes intercepted.
