Samford 24, Wofford 17, OT
Andy Summerlin threw for a touchdown and passed for the two-point conversion to tie the game at 17-all as time expired in regulation, then hit Kelsey Pope on a 12-yard scoring pass in the second overtime to lead Samford to a 24-17 victory over Wofford on Saturday.
Both teams missed field goals in the first overtime, and Wofford fumbled the ball away in the second OT.
Trett Hardman caught the touchdown pass at the end of the fourth period, and Chris Cephus was on the receiving end of the two-point conversion for the Bulldogs (6-3, 4-3 Southern Conference).
Samford came back from a 17-9 fourth-quarter deficit. Summerlin was 29-of-35 passing with two touchdowns, and Fabian Truss rushed for 120 yards.
Cameron Yaw kicked three field goals for the Bulldogs.
Eric Breitenstein rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown for the Terriers (7-2, 5-2).
