Robinson, Troy cruise past Savannah State 66-3
Corey Robinson threw four touchdown passes and Troy racked up 531 total yards en route to a 66-3 victory over Savannah State on Saturday night.
Robinson completed 17 of 19 passes and had 180 yards passing. He has now completed 47 of 51 (92%) passes this season.
Troy raced to a 24-3 halftime lead as Robinson connected with Eric Thomas on two 8-yards touchdowns in the first quarter. The duo would hook up a third time on a 50-yard scoring strike just 1:08 into the third quarter, pushing the Troy (2-0) lead to 28 points.
Thomas finished with 66 yards receiving.
Savannah State (0-2) managed just 14 yards rushing and 147 total yards. The Tigers have now been outscored 143-12 in their first two games of the season.
Troy totaled 251 yards rushing, 27 first downs and punted just once.
