Richt reveals Nick Chubb battling through ankle injury

The Vanderbilt game turned out to be closer than the experts predicted, as a late pick-six helped Georgia turn a close game into a comfortable 31-14 victory in Nashville. The tight contest could have really been devastating to the Bulldogs, as Nick Chubb was seen limping following his team's SEC opener.
Breathe easy Bulldog fans, the injury wasn't bad.
“He’s fine,” Mark Richt said during Sunday's teleconference call, according to Dawg Nation. “He got his ankle a little tweaked. I don’t even think he’ll miss a practice. But for a minute there we weren’t sure.”
Following an examination of his ankle by team doctors, Chubb has was cleared for all activity. With starting quarterback Greyson Lambert looking shaky in his first road start for Georgia, the Bulldogs are going to likely continue to rely on Chubb to carry the offense until the passing game catches up to speed.
“We’ve just got to get better at throwing and catching, period,” Richt said. “We’ve thrown and caught it pretty good in practice. We just haven’t had it happen in this last game. The first game we were one of the top pass-efficiency schools in our league. We just didn’t have a good first half in particular (against Vandy). The second half was much better.
“But we’ve got the right ingredients in terms of quarterbacks, protections and receivers.”
