Richmond defeats William & Mary 31-20
Seth Fisher rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns as Richmond defeated William & Mary 31-20 Saturday.
Holding a one-point lead late in the second quarter, Richmond (6-6, 4-4 Colonial Athletic Association) pulled ahead as Michael Strauss found Brian Brown for a 5-yard score. Jordi Brandon added a late field goal to put the Spiders up 24-13 at half.
Richmond opened the second half with an eight-play, 75-yard drive capped with a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Fisher.
The Tribe (7-5, 4-4) couldn't pull closer as their next three drives ended in an interception, a fumble and a turnover on downs.
William & Mary led 10-7 in the first quarter after Airek Green returned a Fisher fumble 40 yards for a touchdown. Richmond answered with a 1-yard score by Fisher on the next drive.
Strauss finished 22-of-37 with 233 yards and Stephen Barnette had seven receptions for 90 yards.
