Report: Irish WR Floyd arrested for DUI
Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd was arrested on the school's campus at the weekend for DUI, local news website WSBT.com reported Monday.
Floyd was taken into St. Joseph County Jail at 4 a.m. local time Sunday, before posting a $500 bond to earn a late morning release. He was set to appear in court April 2.
The 21-year-old was rated as a top potential NFL draft pick after he ended an outstanding football season with an awesome two-touchdown display in Notre Dame's bowl win over Miami on New Year's Eve.
But he opted to return for a senior year in South Bend where he already holds the school record for touchdown receptions.
Sunday's arrest came 15 months after Floyd was cited for underage drinking while at home in Minneapolis.
Police reported Floyd had blood on his shirt and hands following an apparent fight at a party in January last year.
