Report: Former USC RB coach Tommie Robinson returning to Trojans

Published Jan. 18, 2016 7:18 p.m. ET

USC is bringing back former running backs coach Tommie Robinson, according to a report by Scout.com

Robinson has spent the past two seasons at Texas as the Longhorns running backs coach. Former USC head coach Lane Kiffin hired Robinson in 2013 as the Trojans running back coach; however, Robinson was not retained when Steve Sarkisian was hired by the Trojans in 2014.

As Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times points out, USC head coach Clay Helton's new coaching staff is beginning to look like Kiffin's coaching staff at USC.

According to the Scout.com report, Robinson will coach the running backs for the Trojans and also act as the run game coordinator.
