Report: ASU DL coach Jackie Shipp leaving for Missouri

In another blow to Arizona State's coaching staff, defensive line coach Jackie Shipp is set to take the same position at Missouri, according to reports.

With signing day on Feb. 3, this turn of events isn't ideal by any stretch. ASU has had considerable turnover over the course of the past year in regards to its coaching staff -- losing the likes of Mike Norvell, Chip Long, Chris Ball, Bo Graham, and now Shipp.

Known as a terrific recruiter and teacher of the game, Shipp will bring a wealth of experience to Columbia. Throughout the course of his career, he's helped develop NFL talent such as Tommie Harris, Gerald McCoy, and Will Sutton.

The hiring of Shipp also continues the heavy Oklahoma-influence within Barry Odom's staff. Shipp played and coached at Oklahoma. Multiple other coaches within the current staff (Josh Heupel, Joe Jon Finley, Ryan Walters) also have ties to the program.
