Recruit posts inflammatory picture
Talk about heating up the rivalry.
Michigan recruit Logan Tuley-Tillman says in a telephone interview the reaction from Ohio State fans has been ''kind of crazy'' since he posted a picture on his Twitter account of him burning an envelope from the Buckeyes.
The highly touted offensive tackle from Peoria, Ill., has committed to the Wolverines' 2013 recruiting class, and posted the photo Saturday.
Tuley-Tillman told Yahoo! Sports that he has received death threats from Ohio State fans since posting the photo.
"There have been a couple death threats," he told the website. "And they've been sending my mom messages on Facebook. I just told her you can't listen to it because it's one of the biggest rivalries in sports."
Tuley-Tilman says he posted the photo because some people have been saying he was going to flip his commitment to become a future Buckeye.
He told Yahoo! Sports that his experience with Ohio State fans while in Columbus led to his decision to commit to the Wolverines.
"I was up there and the fans were cussing me out and they were saying '(expletive) you' and stuff like that while I was walking through the mall," he told the website, while admitting that he was wearing a Michigan hat. "It wasn't like in my face. They were like saying things and then would power walk away. One of them actually threw something at me, but it didn't hit me. So, that's how it started."
Ohio State has continued to recruit Tuley-Tillman despite his commitment to Michigan and even visited him at home in an attempt to change his mind, according to Yahoo! Sports.
"They came to my house and they offered when I committed to Michigan," he told the website. "There was just something about them. They're a good school, I just really hate the whole state of Ohio. I just can't wait to get a chance to play them."
Tuley-Tillman says Michigan offensive line coach Darrell Funk has told him to be careful about anything else he posts on Twitter.
The inflammatory photo is just the latest example of animosity between the rival Big Ten schools.
Earlier in May, five-star quarterback recruit and Michigan commit Shane Morris photobombed three Ohio State commits at the Elite 11 camp in Columbus.
