The younger brother of Philip Rivers of the NFL's San Diego Chargers, the 6-foot-7 Rivers transferred to Vanderbilt last summer after graduating from LSU in May. He started one game and played in three others, going 25 of 63 for 334 yards.

Rivers wrote on Twitter that he appreciated the opportunity Vanderbilt gave him and wishes the Commodores the best. But Rivers wrote he looks forward to playing for another team in the last year of his eligibility.
