Prairie View A&M edges Alabama A&M 28-26

Courtney Brown ran for 116 yards and caught four passes for 52 yards to lead Prairie View A&M to a 28-26 win over Alabama A&M in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game Saturday.

The Panthers (2-2, 2-1 SWAC) failed to score in the first half as Alabama A&M (1-3, 1-1 SWAC) scored a pair of touchdowns, but failed to convert either PAT. That failure proved to be the difference in the game.

Prairie View scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 21-12 lead.

Jerry Lovelocke, completed 21 of 36 passes, throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns for Prairie View.

The Bulldogs staged a fourth-quarter comeback with two touchdowns, but the Panthers put the game away with a 67-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown drive.

Lee Jaymason had 224 yards passing for the Bulldogs.
