Police: Florida CB J.C. Jackson arrested following armed robbery
Florida redshirt freshman cornerback J.C. Jackson was arrested Saturday night following an armed robbery, police said, according to multiple reports.
Jackson, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound defensive back, turned himself in at the Gainesville Police Department station late Saturday night.
According to the Gainesville PD’s report on the arrest, Jackson and two other men went to the apartment of someone they knew, and one of the men took out a handgun and made the victims get on the floor. The suspects allegedly took money from the victim's pocket before leaving with marijuana and an Xbox.
Jackson has had a troubled first year at Florida. The defensive back was in the car with Treon Harris when the quarterback was pulled over and charged with a second-degree misdemeanor for operating a vehicle without a license. He was also grazed by a bullet during during a shooting in Immokalee, Fla., on Christmas Eve.
Jackson redshirted the 2014 season after injuring himself in the Gators’ season opener.
