During LSU's 19-7 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies, sophomore running back Leonard Fournette broke Charles Alexander's school record for most rushing yards in a single season.

Alexander accomplished the mark in 1977 -- rushing for 1,686 yards. With a bowl game still remaining, Fournette eclipsed the mark with 1,741 yards rushing in the regular season.

This mark is impressive on a number of fronts. For one, Fournette is an underclassman. He theoretically could still play on the collegiate level for two more seasons (although that appears highly unlikely).

LSU's game against McNeese State was canceled earlier this season due to inclement weather. Fournette was able to break the single-season LSU rushing mark -- with one less opportunity to do so.

Based upon his posts on Twitter and Instagram, the humble running back is supremely thankful for the help he received from his team during this historic season.
