Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, a former Tennessee star, announced Friday he and his wife have made a $3 million financial commitment to his alma mater.

According to the announcement, the gift will be earmarked for the Tennessee football program and the Peyton Manning Scholarship Endowment, which is a four-year scholarship presented to first-year students participating in the University of Tennessee Honors Program.
