Penn State DC says PSU 'White Out' beats SEC, Army-Navy atmospheres

Bob Shoop is a native Pennsylvanian, but he has been around.

The current Penn State defensive coordinator played at Yale, where he was also a graduate assistant. He's worked at Virginia, Army, Boston College and Vanderbilt among other stops during a career that began over 25 years ago.

And he says he's never seen anything like the Penn State "White Out".

"You have to experience it," Schoop told BTN.com. "I came from Vanderbilt, so we saw all of the neat SEC venues. I’ve coached in an Army-Navy game, I’ve coached Yale-Harvard, and I’ve coached a BC-Notre Dame game."

Pretty stiff competition to be sure.

And along those lines, Shoop said the loudest moment he's ever experienced in a stadium came last year when defensive tackle Anthony Zettel jump-started a Penn State comeback from down 17-0 with a pick-6 against Ohio State in the 2014 White Out game.
