Oregon is on pace to break a record it has no interest in breaking

Oregon's defense is on pace to set a school record that has stood for almost four decades. It's most definitely not one they have any interest in breaking.

The Ducks' defense has allowed 307 points through eight games this season, which is over 38 points per game. If the Ducks continue to allow that many points per game, the team would shatter its all-time record for points allowed in a season.

Oregon allowed 377 points in 11 games in 1977, which amounts for 34.27 points per game. The 2015 Ducks are expected to play a minimum of 12 games, though if they win one more game this season they will be eligible to play in a bowl game, pushing the total number of games to 13.

If the Ducks continued to give up 38.38 points per game for 13 games, they would smash the school-record and give up an estimated 499 points this season.
