One famous Longhorns fan still thinks Charlie Strong is alright (alright alright)
Looks like we're near the end of the Charlie Strong era at Texas, as all signs indicate it's only a matter of time before the school officially announces his firing.
And while things didn't work out for Strong and the Longhorns on the field, there's no doubt that the embattled coach truly cared about the football program and always had his players' best interests at heart.
That sentiment was echoed by one of the Longhorns' most famous fans on Monday, when Austin's FOX 7 caught up with Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey and asked the "Wolf of Wall Street" actor about Strong's fate and the Longhorns' upcoming season finale with TCU.
McConaughey, one of Texas' most notable alumnus and a staunch supporter of the football program, praised Strong and the legacy he'll leave behind.
"No doubt, for three years, he’s been about what’s best for these young men, and who they are in the rest of their life. That’s gonna be the legacy of Charlie Strong."
And as for Friday's matchup with rival TCU, McConaughey went all-in on his 'Horns, saying "We’re gonna go out and whoop TCU’s [expletive] on Friday!"
Well alright alright alright.
