COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett is scheduled to be arraigned on a citation for operating a vehicle while impaired.

The clerk's office said he wouldn't have to attend Tuesday's arraignment in Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus.

The 20-year-old Barrett was cited for the misdemeanor at a Columbus police checkpoint Oct. 31, during the Buckeyes' off week. Police say a breath test showed his blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit.

Coach Urban Meyer has said Barrett told him he didn't believe he was impaired. Barrett's attorney hasn't responded to messages.

Barrett was suspended for one game and replaced by Cardale Jones for the second-ranked Buckeyes' victory over Minnesota. But Meyer said Monday that Barrett is again considered the starter heading into Saturday's game at Illinois.
