Jake Miller ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns to lead North Dakota to a 26-20 victory at Southern Utah on Saturday.

North Dakota (2-2) jumped to a 16-0 lead in the first quarter in the Great West Conference opener for both teams. A fumbled snap on a Southern Utah punt turned into a safety for the Fighting Sioux, then Miller ran 34 yards for a score and Joey Bradley found Greg Hardin for a 26-yard touchdown with 8 seconds left in the quarter.

Miller's 3-yard TD run put North Dakota up 26-13 with 12:23 left.

Brad Sorensen threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns for the Thunderbirds (3-2), who won 41-16 at UNLV last week. Sorensen was 38 of 54 against North Dakota, but his final pass was intercepted by Daryl Brown in the end zone with 11 seconds to play.
