LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska reserve defensive back Boaz Joseph has been ticketed for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

University assistant police chief Charlotte Evans says Tuesday that investigators found 3.3 grams of marijuana in a tobacco tin in Joseph's room at an apartment last Thursday. Evans says officers were there to execute a search warrant in connection with an unrelated fraud investigation. Two other people were ticketed for having drugs and paraphernalia.

Joseph, a 21-year-old sophomore from Weston, Florida, appeared in five games and made one tackle last season.

The athletic department says coach Mike Riley is aware of the situation and had no immediate comment.
