Mystery man: What's up with missing recruit Dalton Wood?

Published Jun. 7, 2015 4:41 p.m. ET

The Oklahoma Sooners' 2015 recruiting class has made its way to Norman to begin summer workouts.

For some reason, one recruit made a quick U-turn. Dalton Wood, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound, three-star athlete apparently reported to campus on Wednesday with his new teammates, but then left school in the middle of the night to return home.

Wood apparently still has not made his way back to Norman, and at this point it appears Oklahoma's coaches aren't sure if he will remain a member of the 2015 recruiting class.

According to the Tulsa World, Wood's high school coach confirmed that Wood left school.

“I got a call from [Oklahoma assistant coach] Cale Gundy this morning that Dalton had left in the middle of the night," Pratt said. "I don’t know what the heck’s going on."

At this point, it appears only Wood and his family do.
