Mike Harris rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and Murray State recorded its first shutout in seven years in a 39-0 rout over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.

The Racers (1-1) held an opponent scoreless for the first time since a 38-0 win against Tennessee-Martin in 2004. It was their first road shutout since 1996, blanking Southeast Missouri 16-0 in 1996.

Murray State was never threatened by MVSU (0-2), claiming a 9-0 lead on Harris' 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Harris, who finished with 19 carries, had a 13-yard touchdown as Murray State went ahead by 32 points in the third.
