DeNarius McGhee threw a 3-yard touchdown to Brian Flotkoetter with 2:59 remaining, giving Montana State a 24-17 victory over Southern Utah on Saturday.
McGhee was 18 of 28 for 211 yards passing and two touchdowns, and Orenzo Davis added a 74-yard touchdown run as the Bobcats (5-0, 2-0 Big Sky) remained unbeaten.
Davis finished with 123 yards rushing for Montana State, which is off to its best start since winning its first eight games in 1978.
Southern Utah (2-3, 1-1) trailed 17-7 after three quarters but tied it up on an 8-yard TD pass from Brad Sorensen to Mitch Jessop and a 49-yard field goal from Colton Cook with 4:03 remaining.

Sorensen completed 25 of 47 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Jessop had six catches for 97 yards.
