Mississippi State's prep not changing for Auburn despite QB change

While many outside of Auburn may be wondering what kind of player Sean White may be for the Tigers in his first start against Mississippi State, the Bulldogs' coach apparently isn't in that camp.

During Wednesday's SEC coaches teleconference, Mullen proclaimed it's business as usual for the Bulldogs.

"It doesn't change our game plan at all," Mullen said. "I haven't seen the other guy play, I think this will be his first action ever. For us it's not going to really affect us. I don't know how it affects them, but for us we just have to go out there and play hard. It's not going to change anything we do."

Auburn is wisely breaking in White at home Mississippi State, as Johnson's play has been so inconsistent so far, the team can no longer afford to let him attempt to figure it out on the field in conference play.

If White performs well and Auburn wins, the Tigers have San Jose State at home before entering the bye week. The redshirt freshman will have three weeks of play under his belt before hitting the road if all goes according to plan from here on out.

But as big as a game as this may be for Auburn, it's just as big for Mississippi State. Lead by senior quarterback Dak Prescott, the Bulldog offense won't be rattled heading to the Plains.

"We're excited about this game," Mullen said. "Obviously it's a great challenge. We're getting ready to go on the road to play our first road SEC game. We're going to have to play at a high level, but I think we got back on track to where we want to be as a team."
