Miles: Western Kentucky 'is a very good football team'
Les Miles previewed opponent Western Kentucky in a jam-packed press conference on Monday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers enter Saturday's contest at 6-1. They've already beaten an SEC opponent in Vanderbilt this year, and came within four points of beating Indiana. This isn't a fact lost on Miles.
"This is a very good football team," said Miles. "They're good in offense, defense, and special teams. I voted for them to be in the Top-25, if anybody asks. I think they're that good a team."
Miles on TE Dillon Gordon: Looks like he'll be out, hate to say for rest of season but can't imagine him returning. Tough blow. #LSU

Miles then went to praise WKU for its impressive offense, and signal-caller Brandon Doughty.
"They're averaging 535 yards, 44 points," said Miles. "535 yards is a lot of yards. Their quarterback, Brandon Doughty, every bit an SEC quarterback, big, talented, strong, smart quarterback. Big arm. Has already thrown for 2,700 yards and 24 touchdowns."
On the injury front, it appears as if tight end Dillon Gordon may be lost for the season. He had been battling an achilles injury, and re-injured himself versus Florida last weekend. It will be fascinating to see how this will impact the run game down the line. Gordon is a fantastic blocker, and will be replaced primarily by Colin Jeter.

Defensive back Jalen Mills also took to Twitter Monday to announce his candidacy in order to become Homecoming King of LSU. With WKU being the homecoming opponent this weekend, voting will presumably occur this week throughout the university. Mills even asked running back Derrius Guice to participate in the festivities.
