Michigan State football is prepared. Heading into South Bend as the 12th-ranked team in the country, facing off against a tough rival in No. 18 Notre Dame. The Spartans are looking to end a three-game losing streak in the series but it won’t be an easy task.

The Spartans are hoping to have some good weather so Tyler O’Connor can succeed in the passing game, and they might just have the perfect night to do so. South Bend’s weather is looking positive.

Here’s what the weather looks like for tonight’s 7:30 p.m. ET start time in South Bend:

Temperature at kickoff: 75°F
Temperature at game’s end: 67°F
Precipitation: 5% chance throughout
Wind: WSW 5 mph

The offense should have no issues against a depleted Notre Dame defense with flawless weather like this. Great temperatures at the start and a little chilly by the time the game is over, but no precipitation and very little wind is key.

About 10 years back, weather played a huge role in the Spartans’ demise against Notre Dame in John L. Smith’s final year. The Spartans had a 37-21 lead but blew it and lost 40-37 after a very sloppy fourth quarter.

If that happens this year, you can bet the Spartans will be prepared with a strong run game with LJ Scott starting in the backfield.

Should be yet another instant classic in the rivalry’s series.
