Michigan State Football: Jon Reschke could be out for the year
According to Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio, junior linebacker Jon Reschke could be out for significant time.
The tough news is rolling in lately for Michigan State football. Right before kickoff Saturday, Riley Bullough was ruled out and the Spartans were without their starting middle linebacker against No. 11 Wisconsin. Now, news has broken that junior linebacker Jon Reschke is going to be out for a while.

According to Mark Dantonio, Reschke is out for a ‘significant time’ due to an ankle injury. That will be a tough blow for this team already down Bullough for the Indiana game.
Rumors have been circulating lately that Reschke’s injury is much more serious than Dantonio is letting on and that the junior could be out for the season. If that’s the case, the defense will be taking a huge blow as Reschke has the talent to be an All-Big Ten linebacker.
However, Dantonio seemed fairly confident that Reschke would be returning at some point this season. He missed the opener against Furman, but has been impressive since, recording 13 tackles and an interception in two games.
Andrew Dowell, a breakout sophomore, will be filling in as the starter at the ‘Star’ linebacker position, most likely. He’s not uncomfortable with an expanded role as he’s been listed as the starter in weeks past and has looked great doing so.
Your starting linebackers for Michigan State against Indiana will look a little different: Dowell, Shane Jones and Chris Frey.
