Miami Hurricanes Senior Wide Receiver Stacy Coley was named the ACC Receiver of the week after seven receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns in the ‘Canes 20-19 loss to Florida State.

This is the second week in a row a Hurricane was named an ACC Player of the Week. Junior linebacker Trent Harris was named as the Defensive lineman of the Week after last week’s win at Georgia Tech. Ahmmon Richards also received a player of the week honor. He was named the ACC Rookie of the Week for his performance against Appalachian State.

Coley has been the leader of the ‘Canes receiving corps. He leads the team with 22 receptions and six touchdowns. He is 13 yards behind Richards for the team lead. Coley also led the team in touchdowns as a freshman in 2013.

Coley was the first one to get into the end zone on Saturday. He and Kaaya connected from 21 yards out in the second quarter and from 11 yards out with 1:38 left to bring the Hurricanes within one.

The Seminoles ended Miami Kicker Michael Badgley’s streak of 72 consecutive made PAT’s on Saturday when they blocked what would have been the game-tying extra point after the Coley touchdown.

Against the Yellow Jackets, Harris had two sacks, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble that Shaq Quarterman picked up for a scoop and score. Getting Harris back in time for the ACC Schedule was a big addition to the defense after he missed the first three games with a broken hand.

In just two games this season, Harris has eight tackles, seven of which are solo, four tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble. Harris seems to be healthy as he no longer needs to wear a wrap on his hand like teammate Chad Thomas.
