Andre Anderson ran for two touchdowns and McNeese State beat Sam Houston State 33-28 Saturday.
The Cowboys (5-4, 4-1 Southland) finished with 439 total offense yards to Sam Houston's 408 yards.
Champlain Babin caught a TD pass from Jacob Bower, who finished with 281 passing yards. Diontae Spencer ran for a touchdown, and Josh Lewis kicked two field goals.
Anderson finished with 19 carries for 100 yards.
Sam Houston's Richard Sincere rushed for two touchdowns, including a 67-yard run in the first minute of the game.
Brian Bell threw a 64-yard TD pass to Melvis Pride and finished with 301 passing yards.
Two field goals from Miguel Antonio and a safety in the third quarter put points on the board for the Bearkats.
The Cowboys are now tied for first place in the conference.
