McIlwain has concerns over current pledge to South Carolina

Arguably the jewel in South Carolina's 2016 recruiting class, talented signal-caller Brandon McIlwain has some concerns over whether he'll ultimately sign with the program and play his college ball in Columbia.

As he told The State, he will wait and see how the Gamecocks approach the coaching search. Once a head coach is hired, McIlwain will then decide whether he'll be an early enrollee or not.
Regardless, he's a massive fan of current quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus.
"To me, honestly, the biggest thing is just having Coach Mangus on the staff. Whatever it really takes to have Coach Mangus on the staff is good for me," said McIlwain.
The Pennsylvania signal-caller recently hosted Mangus -- but also hosted a Penn State assistant coach.
As McIlwain methodically approaches the decision, he admits his love for South Carolina is strong. With that said, a final decision on his collegiate choice likely won't come until the new staff is settled and in place.
"I still love South Carolina," said McIlwain. "I fell in love with the school. I fell in love with the atmosphere there and I have family down there. There are still a lot of things to me that are attractive about South Carolina."
