McGhee leads Howard over Savannah State 51-21

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Greg McGhee threw four touchdown passes to lead Howard to a 51-21 victory over Savannah State on Saturday night.

McGhee was 28 of 45 for 318 yards passing in taking the Bison (3-7, 2-5) to their second straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory. Howard has won all eight meetings with the Tigers (0-10, 0-7).

William Parker added a career-high 175 yards rushing and two touchdowns, including a 62-yarder.

Richard Williams ran 36 yards for a touchdown that got Savannah State within 30-21 in the third quarter. McGhee came back with touchdown passes to Matthew Colvin and Myles Williams. Aquanius Freeman rushed for another touchdown as Howard rolled up 607 yards offense.

McGhee had 244 yards passing in the first half, including touchdowns to Terrance Tusan and Richard Aiyegoro for a 30-14 halftime advantage.

Tino Smith rushed for 101 yards and a score, and also passed for a touchdown for the Tigers.
