McElwain: J.C. Jackson will face consequences of his arrest

Jackson's future in Gainesville is seriously in doubt following his arrest in connection to an armed robbery. To make matters worse, Jackson has refused to identify the other two assailants involved in the robbery.

According to Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel, head coach Jim McElwain was "stunned" to hear of Jackson's arrest over the weekend.

"He's not on campus obviously," McElwain said. "At the end of the day, we've all got freedom of choice. We don't have freedom of consequence. He's got a lot of things to deal with right now. He's got to get it taken care of."

A former Under Armour All-American, Jackson spent last season on the bench after being redshirted. Jackson was expected to help bring depth to one of the SEC's most talented secondaries this season, but may have just cost himself a chance to ever see the field for the Gators.
