Best wishes are in order for the Mauk family, as the father of redshirt junior Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
The news comes less than two years after Mike Mauk retired from a lengthy, successful career coaching high school football. He shared the following message with Missouri fan site Rock M Nation:
"I'm going to deal with it the best I can. I'm very optimistic about it, but I know there will be some difficult days ahead."
On Father's Day, Maty Mauk shared an Instagram post of himself with his father and a caption that read: "Whoever may read this, my family asks and thanks you for prayers for my dad. He has a fight ahead of him to get through cancer, but winning is the one thing he does best and he will beat this."
