Massachusetts 39, Maine 24
Tyler Holmes became the first player in Massachusetts history to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game in a 39-24 win over Maine on Saturday.
Holmes scored on returns of 18 and 50 yards for UMass (6-3, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association), which forced a total of four Maine turnovers.
Minutemen quarterback Kyle Havens completed 22 of 28 passes for 213 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. Ryan Carter started the scoring for the Minutemen with a 97-yard kickoff return on a reverse to open the game.
UMass built a 32-10 halftime lead as Havens threw three touchdown passes to culminate drives of more than 70 yards each. Dan Sheeran, Julian Talley and Jonathan Hernandez each caught a touchdown pass.
Warren Smith was intercepted three times but completed 29 of 41 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns for Maine (3-6, 2-4).
