Leonard Fournette shatters LSU rushing record

It’s had been a month since Leonard Fournette took the field for LSU. The star running back made his return to the field in a big way Saturday.

Not only did he lead the Tigers to a 38-21 win over Ole Miss, but he set a school record with 284 yards rushing. The amazing part? Get this: He broke the school record after only first eight carries!

Incredible, and true, as Fournette smashed the previous record of 250 yards set by Alley Broussard in 2004, coincidentally against Ole Miss. He did it thanks to three, huge touchdown runs of 78, 76 and 59 yards. He finished with 284 yards on 16 carries, for a whopping 18 yards per attempt.

Safe to say that Fournette is back, and just in time.

LSU is on a bye next week, before the Tigers face No. 1 ranked Alabama. on Nov. 5
