Leonard Fournette has a message for those mad at him for skipping LSU's bowl game

With the decisions by both Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey to skip their school's respective bowl games, it has raised one simple question over the last few days: Does either player owe anything to their school and teammates? Is it OK to sit out the bowl games, even as others — many of whom have their own NFL futures to worry about — decide to suit up?

It's a topic that everyone has seemed to have an opinion on over the last few days, yet we haven't heard much from either Fournette or McCaffrey themselves. Until now.

That's because on Tuesday afternoon Fournette took to Twitter and quieted his doubters once and for all.

Yes, that would be Fournette's adorable, nearly two-year-old daughter Lyric, who was born in early 2015.

And really, doesn't that picture right there put it all into perspective?

At the end of the day, we can talk about what a player owes a school, a school owes a player and everything in between.

But at the same time, while Fournette certainly loved his time at LSU, what's most important looking forward is to provide for his family. It's an opportunity that Fournette will have in the coming months.

In the end, Fournette doesn't owe you or I anything. But he does owe his daughter the best life he can give her.

It's good to see that Fournette has that perspective, even if so many around him don't.
