LeGrand moved to spinal rehab center
Rutgers says defensive tackle Eric LeGrand, who was paralyzed from the neck down making a tackle against Army on Oct. 16, has been transferred to a New Jersey spinal cord rehabilitation center.
The Rutgers athletic department said Wednesday that LeGrand has been admitted to Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange for the next phase of his treatment. LeGrand had been under care since the accident at Hackensack University Medical Center.
The 20-year-old junior from Avenel, N.J., was injured while making a tackle on a kickoff return. Rutgers said updates on his condition would be issued by the family through the school.
LeGrand's mother, Karen, said her son ''is in good spirits and anxious to take the next step in his rehabilitation process.''
