Lamar scored 35 points in 15 minutes as the Cardinals rallied to beat Southeastern Louisiana 48-38 on Saturday.

Trailing 24-13 with 8:30 left in the third quarter, Andre Bevil began Lamar's scoring attack with a 2-yard pass to Payden McVey, capping off an 11-play, 80-yard drive.

After Lamar (3-1, 1-0 Southland Conference) stopped SE Louisiana (1-4, 0-2) on a fourth-down conversion attempt, Marcus Jackson took a lateral from Bevil and threw a 62-yard bomb to fellow receiver J.J. Hayes to give the Cardinals a 27-24 lead.

Bevil then connected with Mike Venson for a 32-yard touchdown and again with Jackson from 29 yards to extend Lamar's lead to 48-31 and seal the victory for the Cardinals.
