Kevin Johnson scored three touchdowns on the four times he touched the football, leading Lamar to a 31-0 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday night.

Johnson had three receptions for 39 yards, including touchdowns of 11 and 8 yards in the first quarter. He also scored on his only rushing attempt, finding the end zone from 12 yards out in the second quarter for the Cardinals (1-1).

Ryan Mossakowski was 21 of 30 for 220 yards passing for Lamar. Herschel Sims (83 yards) and DePaul Garrett (79) combined for 162 yards rushing on 19 carries.

Prairie View (0-2) was held to 249 yards of offense. The Panthers were 3 of 11 on third-down conversions and never got past the Lamar 28-yard-line on their 10 possessions.

Prairie View's De'Auntre Smiley was 19 of 27 passing for 165 yards.
