Drew Reed connected with four different receivers for touchdowns as Lafayette defeated Georgetown 45-27 on Saturday. Matt Smalley added a school-record 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Reed, a freshman, was a sparkling 18-of-24 for 275 yards with TD strikes of 36, 10, 2 and 5 yards to Demetrius Dixon, Mike Duncan, Pat Creahan and Mark Ross.

Lafayette (3-5, 3-0 Patriot) compiled three quick scoring drives in the third quarter to break away from Georgetown (1-8, 0-3). The Hoyas trailed Lafayette just 14-7 at halftime, a Nick Campanella 37-yard TD answering Reed's early TD strike to Dixon. After halftime, the Leopards defense forced two 3-and-outs and an interception, each resulting in rapid scoring drives - 1:48 or less - capped by Reed TD passes, pumping the lead to 35-7.

Kyle Nolan passed for two touchdowns - both to Daniel Sprotte - and ran for another for Georgetown.
