Key, Jones recognized for their brilliance in win over A&M

LSU fans (and disgruntled Texas A&M fans) watched the Tigers' duo of Arden Key and Deion Jones absolutely "ball out" against the Aggies this past Saturday.
Jones won the SEC Defensive Player of the Week award for his stellar efforts patrolling the middle of the field. The senior from New Orleans accrued 11 tackles, a sack, and two pass break ups. Not only did Jones command the defense with his calls at the line of scrimmage, but his physicality truly did hinder A&M's efforts offensively. Kevin Sumlin's group accumulated a paltry 250 yards in the loss.
While Jones will move on to the next level at the conclusion of this season, fans of the program will get to see the brilliance of Key for at least the next two seasons. The true freshman out of Atlanta had 1.5 sacks and eight tackles in the victory. As such, he was named as the SEC Freshman of the Week.
Key's ceiling as a player is truly limitless. There's still ample room for him to put on both weight and strength. Assuming he can maintain his lightning-quick first step, Key has the look of the next great defensive lineman hailing from Baton Rouge.
