JuJu Smith-Schuster had hand surgery, joins USC practice wearing cast

USC has won two games in a row, but injuries are beginning to play role in the team's trajectory. JuJu Smith-Schuster had hand surgery Monday; his return is unclear.
Smith-Schuster underwent surgery Monday, but according to ESPNÂ he was back at USC practice on Tuesday with a cast on his right hand. Shotgun Spratling reports that Smith-Schuster had a "small metal plate surgically implanted" into his hand.Â
Keely Eure reports that USC interim head coach Clay Helton saw pictures of the surgery and "almost gagged." Keely also adds, however, that Smith-Schuster is one of the toughest kids he's ever coached and called him a warrior.
His status for Saturday vs. Arizona remains TBD.
