Jameis Winston Says He Hasn't Seen Heisman Trophy Since 2013
During a recent interview, former FSU star quarterback Jameis Winston revealed that he has no clue where his Heisman Trophy is.
It’s one of the top individual awards in all of sports. Each December, the Heisman Memorial Trophy is handed out to the most outstanding college football player for that season. So far, three players from Florida State have bought home the prestigious honor.
The latest was in 2013, when quarterback Jameis Winston became just the second redshirt freshman to earn the honor, doing so the same year the Seminoles brought home their third national title.
Now in his second season as the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (and coming off a four touchdown performance in Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons), Winston was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network.
During the interview, Winston was asked about that special award and its location. Jaboo’s answer was…well, interesting:
That’s right, folks: Jameis Winston doesn’t know where his Heisman Trophy is at this moment. On the positive side, at least he knows it’s in the state of Alabama right now – at least that narrows things down a little bit, right?
When it all is said and done, Jameis Winston will likely go down as the best quarterback to ever play for the Seminoles – maybe even the best player. He doesn’t need awards (or at least doesn’t need to know where they are) to validate what he did in Tallahassee.
