Coty Blanchard passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Jacksonville State defeated Tennessee State 38-16 on Saturday.

The Gamecocks trailed 10-7 in the first quarter before taking the lead for good with 17 unanswered points. Blanchard contributed a 27-yard touchdown run and a 2-yard scoring pass to Calvin Middleton that capped the rally with 6:49 remaining in the third.

Blanchard completed 15 of 19 passes for 213 yards, and added 38 yards rushing. Middleton caught both touchdown passes.

The Gamecocks (7-4, 6-2 Ohio Valley Conference), who have won two games in a row, finished tied for first in the conference with Tennessee Tech, but lost to the Golden Eagles earlier in the season.

Mike German passed for 263 yards and a touchdown for Tennessee State (5-6, 4-4), but was intercepted three times.

Pierre Warren ended the scoring with a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Gamecocks.
