Kade Bell passed for 313 yards and three touchdowns Saturday and Jacksonville withstood a record-setting receiving day by Lanny Funsten to defeat winless Davidson 34-24 in Pioneer Football League play.

The Dolphins, who improved to 6-1 overall, 4-0 in the PFL, overcame a remarkable performance by the Wildcats' Funsten, whose 17 receptions tied a PFL single-game record. He also set Davidson records for career receptions (191) - breaking the mark of 179 that stood for 42 years - and career receiving yardage (2,362). His 246 receiving yards (including a 12-yard scoring pass from Jonathan Carkhuff) were two yards shy of Davidson's single-game record.

Yet all that, and the passing of Carkhuff (34 for 53, 404 yards, three touchdowns) couldn't prevent Davidson from falling to 0-6, 0-3. Two of Bell's three scoring passes went to D'Andre Randle, the second a 62-yarder. Jacksonville out-rushed Davidson 196-7, 119 by Eric Baker.
