Mike Proulx passed for two touchdowns and Lyndon Rowells rushed for 133 yards as Humboldt State defeated UC Davis 23-17 on Saturday night.

Proulx was 15 of 25 for 247 yards for the Division II Lumberjacks (5-0).

His 6-yard scoring pass to Dirk Dallas made the score 20-10 with 11:35 remaining. After UC Davis (1-4) scored to get within a field goal, Proulx guided a 10-play drive that bled almost five minutes off the clock and culminated with Brian Blumberg's 43-yard field goal with 49 seconds left.

Randy Wright was 26 of 50 passing for 287 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for the Aggies. Both TD tosses were to Tom Hemmingsen, who had 10 catches for 141 yards.
