One week after leading Houston to a huge win over No. 3 Oklahoma, QB Greg Ward Jr. will not play Saturday vs. Lamar, a source told FOX Sports.
Ward is recovering from a minor shoulder injury but is expected back next week when Houston plays Cincinnati on Thursday night. Kyle Postma will start against Lamar at quarterback.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Ward, a senior, went 23-40 for 321 yards and two TDs against the Sooners in a win that helped give the Cougars’ playoff hopes a major jolt.

Postman, a 6-3, 205-pound junior, threw for 453 yards and three TDs last year.
